Solutions

Light Out adapts to where the workloads actually run — hyperscale datacenters, constrained edge, hybrid topologies, or air-gapped public-sector environments. Same DSL, same control plane, different operational shape.

Datacenters

Hyperscale, ready out of the box. UMF produces signed bootable images that flow through BOREAL’s lifecycle pipeline, so racks come up clean and stay converged with declared state. No bespoke imaging pipelines, no drift, no upgrade tickets.

Typical fit: 1,000+ node estates with multi-region failover and a hard requirement for reproducible builds. Imagilux fits cleanly behind whatever orchestrator you already run — Kubernetes, OpenStack, plain QEMU.

Edge

Constrained topologies with full control. Edge fleets get the small end of the resource spectrum — limited compute, intermittent connectivity, sometimes hostile physical environments — and the large end of the operational risk: a misconfiguration ten thousand sites deep takes weeks to undo.

UMF emits images sized for the constraint and BOREAL converges them without requiring a stable backhaul. When connectivity returns, the fleet catches up to declared state without a hand-rolled deploy script. If a site can’t be reached for a week, it doesn’t matter — the next sync converges.

Hybrid Cloud

Span clouds without re-architecting. The UMF specification is portable across hypervisors, public clouds, and bare metal — the same source artifact deploys to AWS, GCP, Azure, on-prem VMware, and bare metal without per-target rework.

BOREAL provides a single control plane across all of them, so policy is declared once and enforced everywhere. Compliance posture becomes a property of the system rather than a per-environment audit exercise.

Government

Air-gapped, FedRAMP-ready. Public-sector fleets have non-negotiable constraints: no inbound connectivity to vendor infrastructure, signed-image provenance, auditable change history, and operators with security clearances rather than DevOps backgrounds.

Imagilux ships fully air-gapped from day one. UMF artifacts are built and verified locally — nothing in the registry → local cache → source build resolution chain reaches outbound when offline operation is required. BOREAL operates against an internal control plane with no telemetry leaving the boundary.

FedRAMP authorization work is in progress; reach out for current status and deployment patterns we’ve seen accepted in regulated environments.
